To Serve and Protect

Douglas Dive Rescue Team

The Douglas Dive Rescue Team (DDRT) is comprised of volunteers from the Douglas Police / Fire Departments and Sutton Fire Department. The DDRT works in partnership with Webster Rescue to provide water related emergency response to area towns and states as needed. Members of the DDRT volunteer their time and provide their own gear. We train year round with annual ice, deep, night, and pool dives. All divers have minimum Dive Rescue International DR1 training or equivalent. The DDRT attends training from both Dive Rescue International and Team LGS (Life Guard Systems). The DDRT has no yearly budget and operates  through the Douglas Police Association. Operating expenses are covered by fund raisers, donations, and from the towns Waterway account which is funded by boat excise tax.
