Chief Patrick T. Foley, Douglas, Massachusetts Police Department was elected Vice-President at Large of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) on October 5th, during their 116th Annual Conference held in Denver, Colorado.
The International Association of Chiefs of Police is the world’s oldest and largest nonprofit membership organization of police executives, with over 22,000 members in over 89 different countries. IACP's leadership consists of the operating chief executives of international, federal, state and local agencies of all sizes.
Chief Foley is in his thirty-third year of law enforcement and his twenty-third year as a Chief of Police. He just began his fifteenth year as Chief of Police with the Douglas, Massachusetts Police Department. Prior to being hired as the Chief in Douglas, he served as the Chief of Police in Windsor, Vermont.
Chief Foley’s career in law enforcement is long and distinguished, having received numerous awards for outstanding police work and service to law enforcement and has been part of the leadership of Chief’s Associations in Vermont, Massachusetts and New England.
As a new member of the Board of Officers of the IACP, Chief Foley will have oversight over five committees, to include; Community Policing, Crime Prevention, Victim Services, Juvenile Justice and Environmental Crimes. Chief Foley also serves as a member of the IACP Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Committee.
Chief Patrick T. Foley grew up in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where he graduated from Pawtucket West Senior High School. In 1975, he graduated from Bryant College, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Law Enforcement. He is married to the former Debra Fields of Pawtucket, RI and has a daughter, Kathryn. |
